I’m new to DJing so please bear with me. My hard drive in filling up fast and at some point I know I’ll have to remove tracks from iTunes and save to an external drive.
When I removes tracks from iTunes and the playlists from traktor, if I then add the tracks back to itunes at a later date, do I have to set the beat grids and cue points all over again?

Tip 1: Limit your collection to 1500-2000 tracks. Anything over that is overkill really. If you are a mobile DJ that needs many tracks for request purposes, you can keep them in an external HD which you can browse through the file/folder browsing facility of your DJ software.
Years ago I used to use to go through huge numbers of tracks in one smooth workflow and fix grids, set load markers, add emergency loops, lock the tracks etc.Unfortunately this mapping just seems to be straight up broken in Traktor Pro 3 (at least for me) and as far as I can tell no-one has released an updated version, or anything functionally equivalent. https://golyahoo.netlify.app/traktor-3-pro-forum.html. If you move a track from it’s original location, Traktor will keep the beatgrid and cue point info (unless you delete the track from the library). It will also show the file (with an exlamation mark or something saying it can’t find the actual track). If you ever put the track back (in it’s original place in iTunes folder) you should be able to play it again.
My tip is don’t do it! I tried this when I first started just ended up being a nightmare.

From my experience Serato's pretty limited in its ability to interact with external media. I mean, yes you can copy your library across to another drive, but that's about where synchronicity finishes with your two devices. Once I've made an edit to a track (say, set a cue, or something) on my drive, I see no means of being able to syncronise that change with my original systems library. Serato is also really limited in its ability to write anything to a drive. If I want to copy a couple of crates onto my pendrive, the crates will be exported as folders, containing each track. Which means if I have the same song in multiple crates, I'm getting redundant data; rather than Serato exporting a tidy pool.
To parallel this, when I export my music on to my drive with rekordbox, I get one tidy directory on my drive which is sorted by artist, and can easily syncronise any edits I've made off that drive, back with my main system, when I plug it back in after the gig.
I'd be happy to be proven wrong about my ideas on serato and syncronising between system and external device, but right now, functionality seems pretty lacking.
